1) What is your epidemic? Malaria is a wide-spread disease which causes illness and in many cases death.
2) How does it spread? Malaria is spread by mosquito who are infected with the disease.
3) Who is mostly affected? Tourists and young children who are not immune to the disease and pregnant womenwhose immunity diminished due to their pregnancy are mostly affected.
4) How is it treated? There are four anti-Malarias in Asia, but they do not shield you from thedisease, they make yoursymptoms less irritating.
5) Why is it such an issue in your region? Most of the countries infected have areas where tourists are attracted to and come to visit. There are some tourists who do not know there is anoutbreak who get affected and transmit the disease to their country or region.
6) What other regions in the world are affected by this problem? Eastern Mediterranean, Western Pacific and the Americas.
